The Children of Cyberspace
It’s weird to think about it like this, but the idea of internet and cell phones haven’t been around that long. Only a few decades really! Now we have the ever so popular Iphone, and laptops to do our work on. I personally know someone as young as 4 years old who even has her own cell phone, and its not just a little kid one! The phone is an AT&T Samsung Prope! Today’s generation is becoming accustomed to the latest technology, but their not the only one.
This article describes how younger people are using today’s technology as if it were human nature. It also says how older people do not necessarily know how to use it, but this generation knows everything about it. However, my dad is very up to date on all of the latest technology. In fact he had an Ipad before it was even released! He knows more about computers and phones than I do. He knows how to make things run faster and even get HD on a computer! I’m aware that my dad doesn’t represent every man in the world, but he does prove that the younger generations aren’t the only ones that know how to play with technology.
This article also describes how the latest generation is more aware of technology than they should be. However, a lot has happened in the past few years. I personally would be shocked if they didn’t know how to use it. Besides, is it really a bad thing? They are becoming more accustomed to the cyber world. That means that they will be able to improve it and make even more high tech inventions in the future, which is good because they’re going to be the ones in charge in 50-60 years time. Therefore we should introduce them to as much technology as possible. And look at it this way, when pass generations were born, they were introduced to different electronics, or inventions also. They just didn’t grow up with something as fancy as an Iphone. Older generations always say, “You know, I didn’t have a __________ (ex.- cell phone) when I was growing up!” However, have they ever stop to consider that that’s what the younger generations will be saying to their children when they become adults?
I feel that this article is delivering a message to the public about a problem that really isn’t a problem. If you think about it, technology will never stop because people will continue inventing things. Besides, it’s pointless to have so many electronics, but never use it. So we might as well let other generations learn to use it too so they can improve it later on when they get a job.

Idealism Vs. Realism
Although I only read the first section of the book, Killer Angels, I still was able to find hints of Idealism VS. Realism. The novel displays these actions through conflict with the duty to family and one’s duty to their state. Many of the characters in the book battled these problems, like James Longstreet. Although he had a high rank in the Confederate Army and had to take charge of it often, he was continuously haunted by the memories of his dead children. While he still needed to be focusing on his army and the Civil War, Longstreet constantly kept thinking about his family, and how he could be a better father and husband. James Longstreet wasn’t the only person in Killer Angels who faced this problem, others included Robert Lee, and Joshua Chamberlain.
There is a fine line between duty to the family and duty to the state, which seems to get thinner and thinner as people keep trying to mix the two conflicts with each other. Common people who make this mistake are important government officials. They try to combine problems they find around their friends and family, and use their government power to try to make things better. In doing so they often just make things harder without even realizing it. It’s very difficult to separate one’s job towards their state or country and one’s job for their family and friends. It’s seems almost like human nature to mix these two. Especially in today’s modern life, where all people, children, teens, and business men/ women, have such busy schedules that every minute of every day is completely filled. I feel that its alright for one’s duties between state and family get a little tangled up, however, when things start to get out of control, that person needs to take time to sort things out.

That is baloney!!!!!!!!!! You can’t get a tumor just from over use of a cell phone! I use my phone everyday and have never had any problems! I’m pretty sure I would have noticed by now if I had gotten a tumor from using my cell phone way to much!!!!! Besides, I would expect to get like, a finger related medical condition rather than an ear! If I were to predict the percentage of people who would have arthritis in their hands, when they’re 80 years old, because of over texting, it would probably be around 80-90%!!! Most people with cell phones TEXT not CALL! Even if they do make a lot of calls, wouldn’t they have an ear piece, like a blue tooth?? My dad does! He actually makes all his calls in his office so he has a conference phone where he can just put the phone on speaker! I do suppose that cell phones do give off a little radiation, but it shouldn’t be enough to harm you! We probably in more danger of radiation when we go to the airport or something!! Besides, if this article was for real, then wouldn’t there be like a call back on all cell phones?? I’m sure that would be hard to do, but the cell phone companies could at least stop cell phone production. Sure, it would be an inconvenience, but at least not as many people will be in danger of radiation. If you ask me, this article was just a joke, and the company that wrote it, were simply trying to scare a bunch of businessmen.

5. In this article, the author describes the problems an animal dentists faces because he doesn’t have a license to practice this type of work. This raises an interesting question, “Should there be any licensing requirements , or should people be able to pay each other whatever they want for what ever service they want?” This question is very hard to answer, because we all want to trust the person we hire to do a good job. However how will we ever know if they know what their doing if they don’t need to have proof? For that reason, I say yes, although, Mr. Mitz (the man mentioned in the article), has been practicing the art of horse-teeth floating for over 25 years without any injuries, therefore I don’t see the need for him to have licence because he has obviously done a great job, and the same people keep asking for them.
4. Licences show proof that a person has gone to school and has learned the practice of a certain job. Most jobs require a licence whether your a teacher, doctor, or even just driving a car. Licences show that the person who has it knows what he/she is doing and is a professional. The purpose of a licence serves a very important role. They make sure we are trusting the right people with certain jobs, there serving a valid justification.
REFLECTION:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
I don’t really understand, I mean sure the guy needs to have a licence to float horse’s teeth, but he seems to be very good, so just hand him a stinkin licence!!!!!!! It seems like he knows what he’s doing, so there shouldn’t be a problem with just handing him a licence are make him have a test!!! These people in charge need to stop making such a big deal out of nothing. I bet there are plenty of other people who DON’T know what there doing who are doing a practice and are way more of a danger to people!!!! What I really don’t get why it’s so important! Well I guess I do, it’s important to have a licence that claims you’ve practiced something before so that they don’t cause harm to anyone else. However, you really don’t need a licence to like, drive a boat!!! I’ve driven a boat before and I don’t have a licence!! How would the authorities even find out?? It’s not like they are patrolling every lake in America, like Grapevine lake. It’s almost like an invasion of privacy!!!

Music is all around us, even when we are sitting in a field with no one around to play an ipod for miles. You can still hear the wind blow in your face and ruffle the tree leaves. The birds will still chirp, and you may tap your fingers against the ground. All of these sounds, may flow together to make a melody, and that melody may become a song. This is how I feel music started out, simply from nature. Now today’s music has all sort of beats and rhythms that we dance to every day. We even have the “top ten” songs of the week. The technology that we use to produce music is also very incredible. However, have you ever wondered what music will be in like 50 years?? Imagine what we have done by simply listening to the sounds of nature, and then just adding a little technology and fancy melodies. For all we know, we may be able to download music from our phones, and have it added to our ipods and computer. Also, maybe we won’t even have ipods! Although, I didn’t find just one long article that described this answer, I found this website (found at top of post). Futureofmusic.org contains several small articles that describe what music may be and how it may look. Personally I could never live without music, and I didn’t think it was possible for music to get anymore futuristic than how it is now. For Pete’s sake! We can even buy songs ON OUR PHONES!!!!! For me that sounds pretty high-tech!!!!

1) Since the beginning of mankind people have always been fighting. This is because its our human nature to, it is near impossible for someone to not get into a fight. It is very common for groups of people to go to war over land,religion, or natural resources. Nations will attack each other until they receive what they want. Often, countries will even start a war over ethnics, or religion. A leader of a country, or even the country itself may despise another country so much that they will try to eradicate it.
3) The Elizarov and Aman families are two different religions, from two different countries that just so happen to be at war and yet they don't hate each other. Both families' children had been fatally injured by their enemy country, but they are still friends. As crazy as it may sound, I am not surprised. It is possible for two countries that hate each other to still have allies within them. Just because the countries are at war, doesn't mean all families have to be. I would have probably acted in the same manner. It wasn't the other families fault for getting their child injured, so I wouldn't blame them.
REFLECTION:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Oh my goodness!!!!! What happened to those poor children is just horrible!!!! I can’t believe the little boy lost half of his brain!!! How is that even possible!!!???? However it is great that they can still get along and play together!! It is even better that the parents get along well lso!!! It seems like both children’s injuries has cause both of the families to forget their stupid ethnic and religious differences, and have learned to forget about their countries stupid war!!!!!!! Maybe that’s what it take to get two countries to stop fighting and finally end this dumb war!!!And if that’s the case, then that’s just sad!!!Perhaps it take the near death of two innocent little children is all it takes . Of course that is a horrible way to end a war, but still, its better to stop one with only two lives nearly lost than having to lose thousands!!!!!! If it was my child that got so horribly injured by the war, I would probably blame the other family, but after calming down and grabbing a hold of reality I would decide that they did nothing wrong…..
